Let the Birthday Celebrations Begin

We are in abundance with birthday's in our family after the first of the year.  First up was Pop's, which I missed on the blog, it was in Jan.  Since he and JoJo were in the middle of moving we decided a trip to Jackson was in store.  First stop was Dick's for Pop to pick out some "comfy" clothes for his present.  Outback was his choice for the birthday dinner, and Baskin Robbins was the pick for birthday dessert.  Julia, Jack and Harrison were disappointed we didn't have any candles for him to blow out, but we did serenade him in the middle of Baskin Robbins.
Next up was JoJo's!  Beth was out of town and Jody had promised the kids a movie so Adam, Harrison and I headed back to Jackson with Pop and JoJo.  Her choice for birthday dinner was Sakura.  And boy it was good!  Pop was being fuchsias and said it was just an appetizer and wanted to go to Crackle Barrel afterward, but instead we headed to Baskin Robin for dessert.  We had a fun night and I think JoJo enjoyed her dinner.  After Beth got back in town, she had a birthday dinner at her house for JoJo.  She cooked up a fabulous meal and had a wonderful carrot cake (JoJo's favorite) for dessert.  Off course the kids had to help blow out the candles.  Sadly, this is the only picture I have from all the celebrating, but none the less it is a cute one!

We hope that Pop and JoJo both had a wonderful birthday!  We love you both so very much, and cherish all the memories that Harrison gets to make with you.  He is one lucky little boy to have you each in his life!

A Rare Treat

Adam and I hardly ever go on dates.  Well we have "family dates" as Harrison likes to say, but we rarely get a chance to have a date with ourselves.  We have had two dates in less than a week and they were both great!  This past weekend we went to Papa and Dar Dar's, so on Friday night they keep Harrison.  Adam and I went to dinner at J's, a favorite of ours, and then we went shopping:).  Originally, we were going to the movies after dinner, but since we were in Memphis and there was the option to shop, I somehow talked him into shopping.  So we went shopping and bought nothing for ourselves and everything for Harrison!  Why is it so easy to buy for your child?!?  None the less, we had a wonderful time just spending time together.

Harrison did not have school on Monday, due to President's Day, so he and Jo Jo spent the day together and were joined by Julia and Jack after lunch.  Pop and Jo Jo decided to have all the kids stay the night.  Therefore, we had the opportunity to have another date.  So, we went to the movies and saw "The Vow."  It was a good movie, a little depressing at times, but all in all a sweet story.  My favorite part of the whole night was when we were sitting in the theatre waiting for the movie to start and Adam leaned over, with a giddy little voice, and said, "I love getting to do this with you.  I feel like a teenager again."  It's funny how we take such little things, like going on dates, for granted.  So today, I am thankful for the opportunity to have dates with my hubby, who happens to be the best thing that ever happened to me!

My Little Reader

Harrison gets a new book in mail each month, thanks to the Dolly Parton Library, and we received his February book this week.  I gave it to him when Adam and I were getting dinner ready.  I suddenly heard Harrison talking about snow and a bear...I had no idea what he was talking about.  I went around the counter and this is what I found.

He was reading the new book and it was about snow and polar bears.  I love how in the second picture you can see his finger pointing to the words.  Soon after he notice me with the camera, he went to his room.  A few minutes later I heard him talking again.  So, I peaked in his room and he was behind his rocker with his stuff animals reading to them.  Hearing him make up his story, as he saw it in the pictures, was precious!  I just hope that his love of books and reading will continue!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I decided to have a little Valentine's party for Harrison.  Okay, not really a party, but I decorated for the occasion.  We had been telling him that it was Valentine's Day and he was excited.  So, after he went to bed I pulled out the Valentine stuff I had and decorated the kitchen table so that when he woke up he would be surprised.  I like to make him feel special and do fun things for him on holidays...and Valentine's is a holiday!  Adam went and got some balloons earlier in the day and we had gotten him some goodies last week.

The basket to the left is the goodies that Harrison received from
church on Sunday and school on Monday.  As I said, you would have thought
it was Halloween:).  We bought the cupcakes at Helping Hand on
Saturday and they were specially made by Ellie and Emma.

He wasn't sure what to think!

But it sure didn't take him long to dig in:)

He got a new movie about turtle's

A  Lion King book, bubble bath, shaving cream and a razor just his size,
numbers and animal workbooks and just a little candy.

When he saw this book he said "This is my favorite!" He loves the
movie and we have watched it no less than 2000  times and
I am pretty sure the book maybe the same way.  I think we may have
 already read it 100 times:)

Harrison was not the only one to get spoiled though...he and Adam surprised me to.

They had me 2 dozen roses and some of my favorite candy and some really sweet cards.  Adam also got me a pair of pants that I wanted...he knows my love language, candy, clothes and flowers!  I am so thankful for my two Valentine's...they make my world go round!

Harrison also got Reed and Colton a balloon for Valentine's day.  I wasn't there to take pictures but I heard they really liked it.  And just to keep the day special, Adam went to McDonald's and got happy meals for Harrison and Reed, for lunch.  Harrison loves fish sandwiches, but of course they do not make fish sandwich Happy Meals, so Adam got him a sandwich separate and just replaced the hamburger with it.  Talk about a sweet Daddy!

Story Hour Valentine's Party

Harrison goes each Monday to "story hour" at the elementary school. Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Pam are his teachers and they do such a good job! Every holiday they have a little party. So Valentine's Day was no different. We did the normal things, like free play, saying the pledge and singing about the weather. We also sang some Valentine's Day songs and read a book about Valentine's Day. Mrs. Donna and Mrs. Pam had the tables all decarated for the occasion and it was precious! They had snacks and exchanged Valentine's with each other. Harrison had a blast a usual.

Harrison and Reed playing during free play.
These two are such a mess together!

These two are just like brother and sister...
they are fighting one minute and loving on each other the next.

Saying the Pledge Alligence

Snack Time
Loving on each other

They had each child a bag that was filled with Valentine's.  Harrison gave his friends a bag of goldfish with a tag that said "Will you O'FISH'ally" be my Valentine?  They turned out really cute.  He had so much fun getting to go through the bag.  With as much candy as we ended up with, you would have thought it was Halloween!

4 Months

Harrison is 4 months!!

So what are you up to these days??

~You roll over from front to back and back to front. You are so proud of yourself when you do it, you will just smile the biggest smile!

~You are grabbing at everything. My favorite is when you grab at Mommy and Daddy's face.

~You are starting to cut teeth.

~You have tried oatmeal and sweet potatoes so far. You aren't to sure of the sweet potatoes but you will eat them pretty good. Next we are going to try avacadoes:)

~You like to stand with us holding you and take steps

~When you lay on your stomach you already pull your knees up and get on your elbows. We see crawling in the near future:)

~You are starting to really have a personality and we love it!

~For some unknown reason, you have quit sleeping through the night. We are hoping starting you on solids will help with this.

~You are still sleeping in mommy and daddy's room. Mommy just isn't ready to put you in the big bed, it makes me sad!

~You are laughing out loud more and more.

~You are going to be an outside person. You can be screaming and we take you outside and you instantly stop.

~You are extremely happy in the mornings.

~Daddy tends to think that green is your favorite color.

~You already enjoy watching golf with him, especially on Sundays...it makes for Mommy a perfect nap time:)!

~You have already made your apperance on the golf course. Daddy's idea of family time is taking us to the golf course with him:)! You actually have been really good all 3 times that you have been.

~You try and hold your bottle, and you do a pretty good job at it.

~You can hold your head up and have good control of it.

It's offical, you are growing way to fast!!! We are so proud of all the milestones you have reached thus far and look forward to what 5 months bring. We love you to pieces and cannot imagine our life without you in it. Thank you for bringing so much joy our lives!

Update

I am slacker, I know!! I guess I don't feel the need to update on a daily basis since my hubby is my only reader at this time:)!! I need to share our blog address with friends and family but have failed to do that yet. The main reason I did start this blog was to be able to look back into our life as the years go by, especially now that Harrison is here. So that being said, I need to hold myself a little more accountable so that I do not regret not recording all the happenings in Harrison's life.

We have had a few busy weekends in a row and are now slowing down a little. August is going to be a little less busy, at least for Harrison and I . Daddy is playing in several golf tournaments(pretty much every weekend) so Harrison and I will be having lots of solo time on the weekends. Not sure what we will do, maybe make another trip to Memphis or maybe just hang out at home since we have been going so much lately. Maybe Daddy will win us some money in these golf tournaments so that we can go shopping(hint hint:)!) . Who knows but we will make the most of our time together. Speaking of time together, I am missing Harrison so much this week. I usually am off on Monday and Tuesday's but I am working all of this week, which makes me sad not having that extra time with him, but I am sure I will make it up this weekend!

Harrison had is four month appointment yesterday and had to have shots:(. He did really well, just cried for a few minutes. He weighs 12 pds. 13 oz and is 26" long!! He is going to be a TALL boy! Dr. Whitby was very happy with his progress. Harrison was being a little show out...he had to roll and roll for the Dr. and he was just talking up a storm and laughing out loud. He was so funny, Adam and I just couldn't believe how much he was talking and playing. The best news of the day was Dr. Whitby didn't hear his heart murmur anymore!! Praise the Lord from whom all blessings flow!! We are still keeping our appointment with the speacialist in September, just to be safe and know that everything is indeed okay. It is amazing to see all the new things that Harrison is doing these days, he is growing so fast right before our very eyes! I will do a 4 month post on all that he is currently doing to follow suite with the 3 month post. Hopefully I can keep this up each month so that I can put it with his picture that I take each month.

Hopefully this is a start to consistent blogging:)!!
